This is the video, shot in 1989, for the BOB single 'Convenience', featuring Simon Armstrong, Richard Blackborow, Jem Morris and Dean Leggett. Released in the Spring of 1989 on House Of Teeth Records, the single made brief appearances in the NME, Melody Maker and Sounds 'indie' charts before finally reaching the exalted heights of #31 in John Peel's Festive Fifty at the end of that year. In the summer of 1989, Convenience was a fixture of indie discos up and down the land. The video for the song was shot in a freezing cold warehouse in Hull at the suggestion of then manager Paul Thompson, and, to the best of anybody's knowledge, has almost never been shown again until now. • Saw these twice at the duchess in Leeds. Good times. Underated, unheard always upbeat. Could have been bigger, Jangly guitars a la bluetones voice as clear as yukon lake. Swagsack a classic.

  • 3.07 genius!

  • Fantastic.

  • Are there any other BOB videos, anywhere?

  • seen this band many times i the falcon camden luv them

  • To paraphrase John Peel - in any well-ordered society this would have been a number one hit in the charts

  • thats a happy memory --

  • I loved BOB, Ive still got all their records, playlists from concerts, and my 'im with the band' backstage pass for a concert I went to. Good memories :o)

  • Saw them several times in Sheffield, late 80s. Great gigs, fun days.

  • Wow...thanks for this. Shamefully I must admit a long-forgotten band who should have been a LOT bigger. This song was a staple of every compilation tape I made for me walkman in 1990. Fantastic!

  • Marvellous. So very glad they played the Wilde Club in Norwich! :)
