@ccolimon If you see how twisty the WCML is, i think 140MPH is pretty good going ( the APT was run at speeds over 160MPH on the WCML during it's testing). Even more so when you think tback to how long ago, to when it was originally built. Add to that uk loading gauge dosen't help matters, that dates back again to when many railways where 1st built over here. Then there's our HS1 high speed line, with the eurostars over here running at very close to 190MPH & soon the ICE at around 200MPH!!

@ay76 And yet the Acela does 150 here in the U.S.

Oh no!! Gotta get your cable found, Cheers.
Too bad the windscreen wiper doesn't "park" so it's not in the driver's line of sight.

@ccolimon We had a sit in the drivers seat, & to be honest it doesn't affect the view that the driver has, or at least that's the impression we got. The 2nd wiper parks in the horizontal postion on the drivers right hand side of the windscreen. I know one of the drivers on these, so could ask him what he thinks, if you want me to?? Kind regards.

It's permitted service speed is 140MPH on some sections of the WCML (West Coast Main line). Other wise i'm not sure what it'll do flat out??
Cheers.
