This very lovely holiday ballad is brought to life infused with Johnny's warmth and sensitivity. We feel the emotion and longing to be with those we love listening to the simplicity of it's lyrics and gentle composition. Written in 1949, for Judy Garland and the film, "In the Good Old Summertime", by Fred (Fritz) Spielman and Janice Torre. You can find this song in Johnny's 2002, The Christmas Album, CD, featuring new recordings of well loved songs along with some newer pieces, including one written for the album, "Heavenly Peace". Well worth owning. The album invites you in through a precious photo of Johnny as a young child on the front cover. Thank you for sharing the lovely voice of Mr Mathis at this special time of the year. Do you know when the photos were taken of his family? Their smiles would light up a Christmas tree. Gorgeous!

@777Moonbeam - thrilled people are enjoying this beautiful song - Johnny brings with such feeling. Aren't those wonderful family photos? I don't know the years-possibly the first one- with Johnny's siblings and parents (I think- i may be wrong- anyone else know? that Johnny is to the far left on the couch)- if he's 8, 9 or 10 then, we can work backwards. The next photo of all the siblings on the couch with Johnny in the middle- I can tell is 70's (early?) and the last one is 80's. :) Enjoy!
