Seeing Arliss chase after his horse and Sam sounds like the movie starts over again where Travis, Lisbeth, and Bud Searcy have to go find him and they all get kidnapped by more indians.

aaaaah all you that are complaining about him punching that old mule, the kid throws rocks at his brother, back then, it was a hard, and rough time, especially out west, like where the stories setting resides...You had to be tough, besides, him punching that mule didn't hurt it anymore than them riding those horses for days did! And, and, and, the mule was being a little bit naughty, so it was his punishment for any of you who think that it's WRONG to spank kids when they are being bad.
