    True, but there were still a lot of first-generation Pintos (before that fix was made) still on the road; and the change may have been "too little, too late" (especially after that 60 Minutes report).

    i had 4 pinto`s, ford put a plastic shield between the body and the gas tank to prevent gas tank catching on fire in case of accident,problem fixed so all of you know nothings can quit commenting on pinto`s exploding in rearend crash`s.I would buy another for 1995.00 if I could !!!!
