April 1960: the Apollo Theatre at Ardwick Green was the location for the premiere of the film Hell Is A City, which was filmed in Manchester.

  • Crime in Manchester 60s style. Starts off well with a lot of moody, rainy streets and wailing saxophones but rapidly becomes typical British crap from that period. The scene where hordes of police descend on a pitch and toss school with about four quid in the pot is really exciting.
