Also, the beauty of diminished chords is that they fit almost anywhere! As long as you keep your note values well defined in your runs (eight notes, triplets, sixteen notes, etc) they will sound good and impressive!

3.07 to 3.10 min is a "lick" very commonly used by pappo luca, and some other cuban salsa pianists. It is simply at diminished chord with the 7th= CDIM7 (c, eb, gb, Bb) played in a chromatic way. You can practice that in different convinations:
chromatically going up, down, doubling some notes or playing it in intervals, or simply by arpeggios.
