Sally Church, PhD from Pharma Strategy Blog provides perspective on the changing landscape for prostate cancer treatment that today offers new hope to patients. She provides insight on the March 2011 European Association of Urology annual congress in Vienna. At the meeting Professor Bertrand Tombal declared 2010 to be a Grand Cru year for prostate cancer therapies with three new treatments approved: sipuleucel-T, cabazitaxel and denosumab. According to Sally, 2011 is set to be another Grand Cru year with two new drugs on the horizon: abiraterone acetate and MDV3100. One of the highlights of EAU11 was the plenary presentation by Professor Johann de Bono of the Royal Marsden in the UK.
