Ever wonder what your EMX looks like on the inside? In this video I actually open the EMX and take a look around. I was hoping to upgrade it with the Studio Essentials ROM board they show on the Korg website as an accessory for the Korg.

  • Hi, do you have footage of buttons you did not include in the video? I need to replace some knobs and they change whole blocks. I need to know how they are divided in blocks.

  • Replacing a knob is easy. You don't need to open the EMX to replace a knob, you simply pull the knobs right off, and replace them by pushing them on.

Give it a try -- pull as hard as you can on any knob or control on the EMX, and it pops right off. It migh seem like you are going to break it, but you won't. After you remove them once, then they are easy to take off again. The first time is only hard because the factory machines put them on too tight.

  • Thanks, I meant the buttons. Knobs are easily removable, to change buttons you have to disassemble Korg. I've done it and repaired buttons. It works great now.
