  • I thought Oscar got this one right, Director to Cabaret and Picture to Godfather.

  • He really deserved this award. The Godfather was magnificent but Cabaret is nearly equally great.

  • @ewanmcfadyen Godfather such a basic film though. Did you see Cabaret. Amazing directon and looks so modern compared to most movies of that era.

  • I have to say that The Godfather may have the classic status but I honestly feel Bob Fosse's direction of "Cabaret" was genius and filled with much originality and style and pizazz. I think it is one of the best wins the Oscars have ever selected.

  • @MrMovieGuy71 dude I know Roy Scheider was Bob in All That Jazz thats why I said that

  • julie andrews is so freaking beautiful!!! i wish i had that subtle beauty which she has <3

  • @ggfanjase

Totally agreed. The Godfather won the awards it deserved (Picture, Adapted Screenplay and Actor) and Cabaret won all the awards that it deserved to win (Director, Actress, Supporting Actor, etc., etc.).

  • @Sevmarick Roy Scheider played Bob Fosse in the film All That Jazz. I grew up thinking Scheider was Bob Fosse until I got old enought to realize they were two different people!

  • Holy shit! He sorta looks like Roy Scheider!

  • Fosse was a TRUE genius!

  • @dinasztie ur comparing apples to gold u moron, no fucking way he deserved it over coppola

  • Cabaret is obviously a more intricately woven, surprising, and original directorial achievement than The Godfather. In many ways it is more dramatically effective. This makes Fosse deserve this award. The Godfather won Best Picture because the writing, and overall cast performance was better- every performance in The Godfather was great, the overall performances in Cabaret (besides Grey and Minnelli) were not that great.
