boxing fans who were around back then knew Julio was winding down around this time and was a little shopworn...if Frankie Randal didn't do it to him, someone was bound to.

@osvie01 I agree 100% I was lucky enough to be a fan & alive during this time in Boxing & before.Having seen Chavez,Leonard,Hagler,Morales,
Ali,tyson etc.To me the guys from this era Like Chavez will always be amoung the best. Not Floyd.Floyd is extremely talented. But his competition will always be suspect.Unlike Guys like Chavez who fought everyone & I mean everyone! -
@stiehlreddog I love to see Chavez fight. In his prime he was a tour de force of a fighter. This clip captures a rare moment in boxing, Chavez going down for the first time in his fourteen year career. In total, he was only knocked down twice in a twenty five year career. That says something about this man's chin. He will always be one of the best.

@osvie01 Prime fleeting? I loved to watch Chavez fight. How could you not!?But I think Randall was a year older in this match. Also Chavez came back to beat Randall.I think twice?

@osvie01 Thats what usually happens, as you get older your skills diminish........

@tioteresoproductions beleive me im a pacman fan but if the pac fought in this era he wouldnt be who he is now.to much talent and good fighters then nowadays its just a gimmick and manufactured champions.

I love how here in the U.S., they love to hate Julio. "Only eight fighters were good", the man fought like 16 world champs and countless amounts of top rank fighters. I think it was Teddy Atlas who said, the reason why the Americans gloated over Randall's victory is because Chavez has been given every American hell for fourteen years, but now everyone is rejoicing that the with his prime finally fleeting we finally caught up to him.
