Various disagreements between guests on the Late Show which was broadcast on BBC2 between 1989 and 1995.

The clip includes Toby Young, Jon Savage (both discussing the first edition of The Modern Review) Howard Jacobsen, Waldemar Januszczak, Brian Sewell, Pierre Salinger, Christopher Hitchens (both discussing Oliver Stone's JFK), Jonathan Miller, Tom Paulin, Sarah Maitland, Michael Ignatieff, Sarah Dunant, Keith Allen (discussing situation comedy with Tariq Ali, Vic Reeves).

This clip is taken from the compilation "1,001 nights of The Late Show"

  • Did I hear Christopher Hiitchens' voice towards the end of that?

  • @constanzavictrix I remember the show with Miller and Gillick well. Miller was supporting an artist who was putting tiny aborted foetuses into earrings, which is why Gillick was talking about 'empathy'. I think Gillick had a point.
