Thanks for the videos! Had a couple of questions: What size martini glass are you using, and what is a double martini? I thought it meant literally twice the martini, but it wouldn't fit into a normal glass.

My Vodka preference? FINLANDIA! I can only imagine that Grey Goose is over-hyped and therefore over-priced, i.e. VO Canadian Rye vis a vis Canadian Crown Royal (over-hyped ergo over-priced, but better? Not really.) Decent Canadian Vodka - Polar Ice but remember every-body KEEP YOUR VODKA IN THE FREEZER! ALWAYS!

Yeah, some vermouth's come from Europe... Baring in mind that the beverage comes from italy and france I'd say so ;)

I used a 5 oz. glass. Martini glasses come in many different sizes. To make a double Martini double the measurements and be sure you use a very big glass.

Vermouth can come from any country that produces wine.

@jtiano Yeah BUT the MARTINI came from the name of the Vermouth, and that would be nothing but MARTINI AND ROSSI's Vermouth. Logic. I know that i wasn't THERE when IT happened but from a former professional service bar bartender from LONDON that's my opinion. I don't make Martinis with anything else. You want to use Gallo?
You want Noilly Prat? You're payin' the bill, bud', so your tastes are the ones that count.

@hasablad69 There are many different stories about where the name martini came from. I do agree that in certain countries in Europe that one has to be careful when ordering a martini because they may get the a glass of Martini and Rossi Vermouth instead of a martini made with gin or vodka. Thanks for you comments.
