  • very space 1999 but sadly those machines were hardly ever used, my school had 4 of them but they were so rapidly superceded im not sure they were used except for 1 or 2 years.

  • Go into Windoze Explorer and run the "Format" command. (Just don't actually format your machine!) Now take a look at the "Allocation unit size" of 4096 bytes. That means your Windoze computer stores files in chunks of 4KB on the hard drive. A 5KB file takes up 8KB on your hard drive.

    The Commodore PET had 4096 bytes of RAM, never mind tape storage. 4KB is barely enough RAM to fill one page of paper with plain text, 50 lines of 80 characters per line.
