The Bill - short film - Germanwatch

One of the three winners of the Germanwatch screenplay competition about Climate Justice. In this four-minute movie produced by Peter Wedel the CO2 intensive lifestyle of an urban dweller (played by Benno Fürmann) is put in contrast to the people in developing countries which are affected most by Climate Change. Really nobody sees how plainly this is just fitting our "capitalism = colonialism" ideological background? Isn't it curious that a new problem fits so perfectly in what we already believed? This should ring a HUGE warning bell! And if you really care about people in developing countries, shouldn't you better spend billion of dollars to help them build schools and hospitals instead of using them for wind turbines or solar panels in your own country?

Da wird Deutschland (Industrieland) mit Entwicklungsländern verglichen - totaler Schwachsinn. Wären die Entwicklungsländer auf unserer Höhe, würden die auch so viel CO² produzieren. Klar, insgesamt könnten wir auch einen Ganz zurücklegen. Lediglich der Vergleich ist total sinnlos.
