BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- A woman convicted of hiring a hit man in a plot to kill her husband was released from prison Tuesday as she appeals her sentence.
Dalia Dippolito, 28, was sentenced in June to 20 years in prison in a plot to kill her husband, Michael Dippolito.
Dalia Dippolito was arrested in 2009 after police said she hired an undercover police officer who she thought was a hit man to kill her husband.
Officers caught her reaction on video as they told her that Michael Dippolito had been killed. He was safe and unharmed.
Dalia Dippolito was released on $500,000 bond. It is unclear who put up the money. She will remain under house arrest at her mother's Boynton Beach home while the case goes through an appeal process.
Michael Dippolito's attorneys, Jason Brodie and Joshua Friedman, spoke out Tuesday about Dalia Dippolito's release.
"He's upset right now. He's upset. He's shocked. He's surprised," Brodie said.
"Clearly, he wants to move on," Friedman said. "The longer the appeal takes, he's still involved in this case."
Under a court order, Michael and Dalia Dippolito may have no contact with each other, although they are living about a mile and a half apart.

This is stupid! She belongs in jail. She ruined Michael life. He made bad choices but was trying to work to correct his mistakes. She is a total biotch!

The judge seems to be a bit schizophrenic with his rulings in this case. It really doesn't make sense to keep her free during the appeal, given all the stunts she's pulled in the past and her complete lack of remorse.
I sure hope they don't let her current time on house arrest be counted toward her sentence, which was too light to begin with.
