I saw the group before they had a recdord out. It was at the Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village - probably 1966. I was 13 of 14 and they were a little scary. What a great group - they were Bowie before Bowie. I think the show was like $1 cover and "pass the hat" between songs.
I saw them at Marietta College and the Agora in Cleveland many times.I think they even played the Colusium in Richfield as a warm up for Todd.I have both of their albums, Future Shock and Bricks. They were produced by Todd Rungren. He wrote 'Just One Victory' for them..
MC'd these guys shows in Athens Ohio in the early 70s. Would give anything to get hold of some concert sound-- anyone remember the Mad Red Ant Lady, Mott's Applejuice jingle, Take the Love in Your Body, etc?
I also saw them on the Smother's Brothers in early 1969 and went out and bought the album. I have long lost the LP and have been looking for the CD for the last 10 Years. Thanks for posting.
