The Auburn University Marching Band spent St. Patrick's Day 2008 in Ireland. See more photos of their trip and of the parade by visiting http://ocm.auburn.edu/ireland/
As someone wh did both in my younger days, I agree. Cheerleadering is more fun and playful but twirling takes more concentration and skill overall while still jumping and moving around.
I agree with you there. I have yet to see this in real life, but I often dream about Aubie twirling batons while marching; the only diference is he's wearing a band uniform and hat.
At the end, yes! Which is one reason why I've always considered majorettes somewhat more athletic than cheerleaders. Because, from my layman's perspective, it's more difficult to catch a thin silver baton after twirling around three times in a row, on one leg, than it is to catch two balls of multi-colored confetti (a.k.a. pom-poms).

Aubie, you should consider leading a military band.

Say what you will. I think he did a fantastic job!

Aubie, Aubie, Aubie! You should have taken a moment to "paws" and reconsider even making a first attempt to twirl that rain-slick baton.
