  • You don't heat the plate / vertical bath, but do try to keep the chemistry within 15 to 25 degrees C. After 3 to 5 minutes (pos/neg), " raise the plate and inspect it at an angle. If the residual silver solution is flowing off in an even sheet, it is done; if in individual streams, or rivulets, then it should be replaced in the bath for perhaps another minute." G H Berkhofer

  • this is so cool!! im researching to do it my self but i have one question thats holding me back. hopefully you can help me. When you put the plate in a bath of silver nitrate do you have to heat it? or will the nitrate stick evenly no mater?
