  • i dont get how sniping works i mean if u find something for 30 dollars and u snipe it for 40 dollars i know that it automatically puts the bid for u when the time comes but wouldnt u also lose because someone could bid higher that amount and win. Why do they say sniping helps u win can u help me please

  • @raynod256

All you're (or the service you're using) doing when sniping is waiting until the final seconds of an auction before placing your bid.

The idea behind it is to keep your bidding intentions hidden, and not draw unwanted attention, by bidding early. Hopefully this will lead to a lower final price, as also, manual 'nibbling' snipers won't have time to react to your bid. Items look more appealing to others when they have a(some) bid.

You still have to have the highest bid to win

  • This works hands down, and because its web based you don't have to worry about your PC slowing it down from doing what it has to do. "5Star" -Retired Manual Sniper

  • Thanks for the vote of confidence. We have a couple minor issues to clean up, but hidbid is reliable despite that.

Really, anyone bidding on an eBay auction should snipe, it is the smart thing to do.

  • I snipe manually , I place my bid after looking at the bid history (includeing hidden bids) then place my bid a certain number of seconds before the end of auction.. programs like this are only helpfull as I see if you can snipe on more than 2 auctions at the same time? mabey?

  • Well, I doubt that most people would want to schedule their time around being in front of the computer when each auction that they want to bid on ends.

If it is working for you however, keep it up.

Yes, you can schedule snipes for more than one auction at a time.

  • Yes, it does sometimes happen.

Delays in communication with eBay servers and possible hidbid system error could be causes for your scheduled snipe not to execute.

We have a mirror system(two servers placing bids), so that helps and improves reliability.

our snipe execution reliability is better than 99 but not yet 99.9%, which is our goal.

  • does it ever no snipe by accident? coz i dotn wanna lose this item im sniping
