Esta turbina de pequena dimensão concebida para complementar as necessidades energéticas dos edifícios, pode vir a ser um contributo importante para que um dia se alcance o objectivo de construir conjuntos urbanos de consumo zero.
@owfped but you dont get 10m/s wind most of time. When wind drop by half to 5m/s, you only have 448W. Also we don't use electricity because there is wind available. What if you have no wind?
With this type of design, I am not convinced that it has enough energy harvesting area because it is not big. Also this type of design rotation happens due to differential drag of wind on each side. So what efficiency this type of wind blade can yeild? Here is my rough calculation based on 10m/s wind with 10m2 cross sectional area. If your wind harvesting efficiency for its area is 70%, generator at 80%, you will have rated output of 0.5*1.28*10*1000*0.7*0.8 = 3584 w. Sounds ok for average home.
Massmegawatts wall is good enough for 120 mph and level 4 earthquake. The bearings are good for a long time and last many years. I understand that when they were prototyping, the bearings were different and not as easy to replace. It may be unsightly to some people like the regular propeller turbines. Yet, somebody built a house that can view one its units. Some people like it.
The only way to go towards the idea in this video is to get started with it, Start putting up solar panels, wind turbines in your house, so the cost of the applicance goes down and further helps to boost their growth. The electricity produced by them could be used for charging appliances, running washer, dryers charging car batteries.
saw this on TV and he has the right idea. the massmegawatts idea is a wall that will take down most birst not cleaver enough, looks unsightly, and has problems with monolithic looks not to mention wind frontage to large, hugh storms...construction is a wall. Bearings needed in that construction are more difficult to replace, and can only be upright/vertical.

would the cost of the inverter drop w/ mass production, or is that a somewhat set cost.
(sorry, don't know much about engineering.)
p.s. - Are you guys working for MMW or something?

Massmegawatts dot com aeroturbine made modifications. You are right. Massmegawatts is still like Mr. Becker's darrieus and savonius.

massmegawatts may be as efficient with some modifications.
