  • Its Petula every time for me! she is a bit drowned out by the chorus here. she puts her all into this and I do find other version to be lacking somewhat but with Petula, you belive what she is singing about.

  • No one pics on Pet- she saved this show from closing

  • Please listen to Helen Reddy's version. Petula's is great. Helen is just great in her own way and style. Beautiful songs and beautiful singers!!! Cheers!

  • i prefer Lyn Paul singing this song (2010)

  • I've seen Blood Brothers quite a few times (sadly not with Ms C), and I saw Pet in Sunset about 13 times! If you listen to her recorded version of the song she brings out even more emotion than in this clip (which I still think is great).

Such a wonderfully plaintive voice, which is exactly what the song calls for.

I've also had the honour of meeting her many times post-show. She is a delightful, humble lady and a true star.

  • I agree with you kidio222. Each singer singing this song brings their own talents, but this is by far the most emotional one. I'm only sad that her voice was drowned out in some parts of this song. I'm glad she sang this song because it's just beautiful. The next person that sang this song best would have to be Helen Reddy.

  • great precormance! I love listening to her on the cd, just amazing. it was also cool to see ruthie henshall, john barrowman, and betty buckley singing in the chorus! just a little bonus to a great song. only wish they didn't rush the ending. but alas that is what you get with scheduled television.

    thanks a lot!

  • Barbara Dickson is easily the greayest of all the Mrs. Johnstones. She doesn't need the backing of a hundred singers and musicians like ms.Clarke here. AND.....the part was written for Dickson.

  • I know it's petula clark and everything but to be honest this is auful compared to linda nolan in the west end

  • Sorry, not this time. I have seen Petula in other productions but for also having seen BB a few times, she's just not the right one !

  • My friend runs a website for the show. Go to my profile, or see my videos to find out more, or wahtever.

Including exclusive cast interviews, including Lyn Paul, Niki Evans, and Broadway's Philip Lehl, who played Mickey.

  • Those of you who want to see Emma Thompson in a version of this, raise your hand. (Raise it if you also feel Ms. Thompson should get the O.B.E., and be called Dame.)
