  • These are my favorite Marx Trains !!! Your collection is really nice in condition and even some rare cars too. Awesome !!! I too have a few post war Marx trains including the 1666 and 666 engines. What fluid do you prefer to use in those engines. I have tried Lionel fluid and even some old Marx fluid but I have not seen the smoke out put like your trains have. Maybe I need repairs or different fluid ??? Please share the secret. :-)

  • Thanks for the props! I many use MTH fluid but have also used some scented stuff I found on eBay. I think the reason why it looks like so much is because the straight-away is so long and even a little smoke will trail a long way. That said, I cleaned and lubed the engine a few years ago and maybe the smoke chamber is more de-gunked than my other 50 year-old engines...

    Thanks for stopping,

    ~Q

  • do you use dcc

  • no, not with these old Marx engines. It's all pretty much Marx: transformers, engines, cars, and even some track and switches.

  • Thanks for posting! My son and I enjoyed it! The onboard camera was a neat idea. You can see my little train engineer at the end of a 30 second roundhouse vid in my video list. Gotta love Audio Adrenaline! HEY! HEY!

  • Glad you & your son enjoyed it. I figured there were some engineers out there...big and little!

    Thanks for stopping by,

  • i hace a 666 in relatively good shape minus the tender. anybody know how much she might be worth?

  • What goes on the Flat Brown Car with a 2 sided metal clip in the center? I've seen it with a plastic top structure and a clip on top of it. Are they for Automobiles? I seem to remember Logs. Getting my old set out for my 3 year old son. I think I could get into this again. Thanks for the video....

  • This is impressive. I just bought a 666 today, and am anxious to see it run. I have a Lionel Frisco Freight Set I bought new in 2000, and have some postwar Lionel steamers. Back in 1972 fro Christmas, I received the Big Rail Work Train set that had the 1666 locomotive. I wore it out. I'm going to buy some cheap cars and put Marx couplers on one end and have lionel couplers on the opposite.

  • Good times! Thanks for letting me ride far away from the smoke. lol
