Love all the videos. I have a 74/75 355 which is a 355 TD but has a varitone. Does not say stereo on truss rod cover. It had a stereo lead but never worked in stereo could yo get a mono with varitone model. Thanks John

There's a long-standing debate about 355 Stereo/Vari-tone vs.Mono...
Personally, I prefer the stereo / Vari-tone version simply for the tonalities, but unless you run it stereo with a "Y"cord, you're missing stuff...
If Gibson were to re-issue a stereo version, they should wire it as the B.B. King model; 2 jacks...one mono, both for stereo.
That being said, I have a 2008 mono version, but would love to have the stereo, also.

Eine Stoptail 355 Mono sieht man nicht jeden Tag. Absolut geil!

There are Gibson 335's, 345's, and 355's. These are basically trim packages of hollow, thinline Gibson. You got the 335 which is bottom line, Les Paul wiring configured guitars. 345's are little higher line with front double binding, stereo wiring, Varitone Circuitry, and split paralellogram inlays. 355's are like Les Paul Customs, with the same wiring as the 345 but with triple bound body, block inlay, and split diamond headstock inlay.

Hi, what is the main difference between "355" and "335? . how about mono and stereo?many thanks
-
what a tone
-
hey man sick playin i would really enjoy it if you could tab that stuff out for me cuz that was downright awesome thanks

It's an ES-355. Read the title.
Those 355's always sound deeper and nastier than the 335's to me. The only difference is the ebony fingerboard and the heavy choke inside the body.

Yes, but this one don't has a choke because it is a factory mono (no varitone!)

I like them better that way. Choke is a good name. It chokes off some of the gain. Great playing and tone, by the way!

If I have ES-345 and 355 Stereo - I would put out the Varitone Stuff - The Guitar sounds much better without!!!

What kind of speaker set-up do you run with your dumble?
Very nice tone and some great guitars, the fantastic chops don't hurt either.

On this videos I used a 1 x 12 Cab with a single EV-12 L. On my CD I used a new 2 x 12 Vox cab with blue Bulldogs
