Amy hated the spotlight IMO - she never asked to be in it! It was a consequence of her wonderful talent! Take her last aborted gig in Croatia in June this year - Amy prepared well for that, keeping healthy doing yoga etc, she recorded with Tony Bennett a month before and was singing very well!! However, the prospect of her first live gig in two years got the better of her and she turned to alcohol an hour before the performance, hence the disaster that it was !!! As I said , AMY HATED THE SPOTL

She was so uncomfortable here. When asked whether she worried about playing to her biggest audiences ever, she winced when she answered, "I'm not really bothered about the crowd. I'm just interested in doing the gig, you know?" and took a deep, resigned breath before stammering "I'll...I'll...I'll love it" about playing to festival crowds. A bit earlier, she sat stock still in a way only wild animals do. And that's what Amy was: the last beautiful member of an exotic endangered species.

Interesting that people don't give a fuck or think she's a junkie slut.. it begs the question why are you here spreading hate, especially over someone who has died. Perhaps u don't like her music, agree with her lifestyle or whatever but she has soothed the pain and heartbreak of millions of people, her words will live on and yours won't. Maybe Amy didn't have much elegance in her final years but she had a whole lot of soul. Fucking legend. RIP babe. gone but never forgotten xxxxxxxx
