in my opinion, tusker and nyam chom are a large part of many kenyans' christmas traditions and culture, why does the govt want to spoil our traditions? the new laws on alcohol are ridiculous! i understand that certain laws maybe need to be enacted but at least make them logical. all this is going to do is cause MORE illegal activities, whether it be illegal drinking venues or increased drug use among kenyans.

@ddnty It's the example I have now on alcohol control. Of course there are many other countries you can give examples of on systems that work to ensure people drink responsibly.

@Savai333 You are very right today Mr Savai, Kenyans invest their money in Pombe, Nyama choma and women instead of their families and children. Most of the Kenyan families are wrecks courtesy of the bar.

@bwanakeino Why do you have to compare everything with the United States?

@savai my sentiments exactly.
let them drink from home, sleep on the floor or crawl to bed.

The high amount of resources we invest in alcohol related activities is not proportional to the investment Kenyans make in other productive sectors. We cannot use labour servicing of leisure to justify the existence of excessive drinking by Kenyans. Even if some employees will lose their jobs as a result of the new law on alcohol, other investment and employment and hopefully productive opportunities are expected to open up elsewhere to fill the gap.
