My favorite American DJ light - The Cosmic. Sound active, linkable, what isn't to light about this awesome, but not very popular light...

  • does it need duty cycle?

  • @MrJamesdimaano1516 Yes, the Cosmic, and pretty much any halogen light should run on a duty cycle of about 10 minutes on, and 10 minutes off. This one is very important to follow a duty cycle as it has no cooling fan. That's one of the biggest downfalls of this light, is that it can get too hot and damage the motor...

  • I have Roto Balls vs. MKII and the light bulbs are 120V 200W.

Do you think a 120V 300W would work on the Roto Balls?

  • @DJBRISK1 Well, without knowing the light well, I would say to use the one recommended by the manufacturer. My guess would be that a high watt bulb would create more heat and either damage the unit itself, or just burn out more quickly...

  • i love the idea of this light. i found them to be more problems than anything...i went to 2 broken ones in less than a week..new from ebay and was going to buy the same one from music store in town and had same problems...would not buy it again

  • I did have problems with a used one that I had bought, the motor would overheat and it would just quiver. The 2 I currently have - I bought one about 3 years ago, the other over a year ago, and haven't had any problems with them...

  • AHAHHAHA! Awsome Intro! LOVE IT!

  • @DJBRISK1 I think you should have 24v 250w in your light and you want to used the 120 300 the answer is yes you can used the only thing you have to do is by pass the big transformer in side the base you no going to need the 48v face the only face you still need is the 12v out used for the motor

  • I KNOW THIS VIDEO IS OLD...AND THIS IS NO OFFENSE TO ANY DJ...BUT THIS LIGHT US USELESS...I HAVE SUM ADJ PRODUCTS BUT I SAVE UP SOME MONEY TO SPEND ON SOMETHING MORE USEFUL. THE COSMO IS A CHEAP LIGHT AND DOSNT DO MUCH. BUT GREAT VID NO MATTER WUT FOR THE COMPETION..
