The heart-wrenching outcome of war returns to Pinky the adult and to the global reality of 2010 before Roger Waters moves on to a preshow- Philadephia inspired "stoners' anthem," a reminder of the power of modern-world medicine to keep Pinky and Roger Waters going for the show.

According to Rolling Stone, the lyrics came from Roger Waters' experience when he was injected with tranquilizers for stomach cramps by a doctor prior to playing a Pink Floyd show in Philadelphia on the band's 1977 In The Flesh tour. ... "That was the longest two hours of my life", Waters said. "Trying to do a show when you can hardly lift your arm". The experience gave him the idea which eventually became the lyrics to this song.

  • I wish he wouldn't have walked out on stage in the middle of the girl's reaction of seeing her father. That was one of the best moments of the show, and Roger took your eye away from the film. I think he learned from it, because by the time the tour made it's way to Miami, he let the video tell the story, uninterrupted. Great show! Can't wait for the Blu Ray.

  • I agree with all about the little girl bring tears to my eyes. SO MOVING i could not believe it. I just wish i could see it again ten more times. This is the best album in my lifetime. I grew up with this album. I came out when i was 17 and a senior in high school. I have listened to this album in its entirity at least 100 times in the 30 yrs.
