During the Scottish wars of Independence the only support the Scots received against the English was from Ulster so shame on Gordon Brown if that's the case! But you can't call him an enemy of the poor, Brown is the man who is pushing the G8 leaders to keep their promises on reducing world poverty. Gordon Brown met Bush only yesterday and it was clear who was sucking up to who. It was crystal clear the USA needs the UK more than the UK needs the US, Bush is very aware of that. Brown is more interested in tackling world poverty than starting more wars.

England conquered Wales and Ireland with ease, Scotland has never been conquered by anyone (not by the Romans, Danes, Norse, the English or even the Martians). Rep of Ireland has benefitted enormously from EU handouts, most of it German and British money....Scotland has got 20% more oil in the North Sea than Norway, which is one of the richest countries in the entire world.
