Tonya Mallard was a friend of mine, At the time of the crash I was a volunteer Firefighter/EMT with Tonya in Waldorf at Waldorf Sta. 12. I spoke to her just before she got on the helicopter, I'm sure she would be very greatful to whoever made this video. and from all of the Waldorf Volunteers, thank you

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13. I remember hearing the news while at the firehouse the night of the incident, and the heart stopping feeling that came along with. To my brothers and sister aboard Trooper 2 may you rest in peace. Firefighter/EMT Christopher Shepard MCVFD Station # 27.

I remember hearing about the crash. Love MSP helicopters. Maryland State Troopers are the best on the East coast so are the pilots. Rest In Peace Guys.

Bad weather, obviously, but an important navigational instrument failed as well from what I understand. I know that they are looking into a possible mechanical failure as well.

Thanks for this video and tribute to Trooper 2. Steve was a wonderful husband and father to my sister, nieces and nephew and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The Aviation Division is the greatest group of people you would ever want to know!

My deepest sympathy to your entire family. The aviation division of the MSP is made up of people who are, simply, the finest sort. Though I have not worked closely with them the past few years, my many years in the anesthesia dept. at Shock Trauma by choice involved daily interplay with the pilots and trooper/medics of the MSP. A former paramedic myself, I loved every minute we spent together training, flying and treating patients. They were/are my friends/family/colleagues.
