Christian John Wikane (for always loving and believing in me), David Nathan (It all started at The Sweet Inspirations Stone in NYC!), Alex Rybeck (Oh, those fun Bacharach sing-a-long parties you held that led to this idea!), Giovanni Savastano (sei il massimo!) Harry Langdon, Peter Pierce, Alex Paige, Alison Newman, David Freeland, Cynthia Phoenix, Lindsey Wilson, Theresa Brown, Craig Bailey, and to the inimitable Dionne Warwick, for inspiring a little 7-year old boy to sing when he pulled out his sister's "Windows of the World" album and decided to play it...after she told him not to touch it!

  • You choose Dionne's toughest to sing and most beautiful songs to share. Hidden gems that you are bringing back to life..Dionne Warwick made my life a little greyer and I know you have the gift too.

  • @oneeyedstar I initially wasn't sure what you meant by 'Dionne made your life greyer' but I think I get it--in that, it feels good to sometimes wallow in the sadness, in the grayness-- of a good heartbreak song, especially if our lives are mirroring the events unfolding in the song. It becomes cathartic. It's why many folks love the blues too...Thanks again for watching. Another song with 'Loneliness' in the title is coming soon...care to guess? Stay tuned...:)

  • Mark, you did this song beautifully...will you please post your other Dionne Warwick's song....For the rest of your life...It's one of my favorites of yours...Always though it would make a good wedding song. For some reasons, it was taken off on youtube.

  • Beautiful....I think this is one of your best performances and what a great song....this is one you MUST record for your first CD!!!

  • Have you ever recorded "You're Gonna Hear From Me" or "What's Good About Goodbye"? Two of my favorite performances on the "Windows of the World" LP, and two of the best vocals Warwick ever layed onto vinyl.

  • Thank you for reminding me the beauty of this song. This piece is difficult, and you did a wonderful interpretation. How can one not reflect upon a lost love? I have been enjoying the other songs in your tour of the discography, and look forward to more posts. Once again, thank you so much.

  • good job on this song. Dionne's version is just a liitle darker. But this version is not bad at all.

  • Mark, how wonderful to hear this. Ever since we first met in 9th grade you've been singing-- and singing well, with a maturity beyond your years. I knew you had a special gift back then. I'm so glad that after all these years you're putting your talent to good use and honoring one of your favorite musical influences. Who knew that when I loaned you my "Very Dionne" album that you'd never return it? But after hearing you do "Check Out Time," all is forgiven. Your rendition was so touching.

  • A great tribute to Dionne by not only a truly great singer, but her biggest fan....I look forward to any and all additions to this site and as her sister Dee Dee always said" Keep on Keepin on!!!"

  • @DionnesDiscography Loneliness Remembers what happiness Forgets.. Forgive me Mark in my "greyer" comment. Rushed and not proof read-Dionne I mean to say makes my life less greyer-darker..her songs lift me but yes also I do enjoy feeling sad-blue when I hear some of them too-so your still correct..xx

  • Wonderful, Mark. Heartfelt, gorgeous, terrific.
