  • vintage deBono! awesome.

  • I doubt De Bono denies that creativity, intuition, logic, etc. can coexist. In fact, in this lecture he talks about people disguising their feelings as logic.

Some of his frameworks do give us a simpler, more concrete, less antagonistic way to address complex real-world problems. But, De Bono does indeed quote himself quite a bit and rarely refers to others work. There exists little denying that.

  • Lol. he switches to lowercase for the disadvantage for the black hat... but everything else is CAPS LOCK. ;D BETCYA DIDN'T NOTICE EH? LOLZ wat a creative thinker

  • how about the blue hat? :x

  • creative concept that explains the subject nicely

  • @Spoonwood It's not about whether they can or they can't coexist. It's about being focused on one thing at a time to achieve full efficiency.

  • The hats don't come as hard to understand as abstract directions like "explore all negatives on this subject..." and they also give us a metaphorical, less personal way of stating such directions. He had to pick some color scheme to make the idea easy to understand. The sun we see as yellow, and generally we like it, so positive thinking-yellow hat. Grass comes as a simple example of growth, which looks green, and creative thinking allows for growth, so creative thinking-green hat.

  • Why hats and why those colors? Does it mean being creative, intuition, logic, and feelings those things can't coexist?

  • Feel it is a way of systematic thinking ..

  • a) the Blue Hat is thinking about thinking, or thinking about which hat is being used or should be used.

    b) Nobody cares whether you "like" his ideas. Learn, or be left behind.

  • In general I like his ideas. But according to my opinion this guy repeats himself. He has become a marketing machine for his own sake. So, no added value anymore!
