Linda Karson, Chevy Chase, MD Precinct 13. Seniors from Springhouse Assisted Living Center aged 91-100.share their reactions to having voted. One senior, 100 years old, tells about the weather affecting the outcome. A woman recalls voting for Franklin Roosevelt and how long it took women, and women of color, to obtain voting privileges. It was truly an effort to get these seniors and their wheelchairs to the polls but each one felt it was well worth it.

  • I have such a genuine love and respect for our older people. The things they have seen, lived through, is both a priceless gift and lesson to us all if we will just listen.

    Their experience is amazing.

We should all make more of an effort to visit homes like this to spend time with them. So many of them have families who never come to see them.

  • I am 20. I would have been disgusted if I couldn't vote in this election. I eat, sleep, and breath politics, and the fact that you are just bitter at young people because they get a say is sad and pathetic. Perhaps if John McCain even MENTIONED what he would have done to benefit college students, he would have done better than 33% among 18-29 year olds. Again the fact that you want to deny a significant voting bloc the right to vote because they didnt vote for your candidate is wholly unamerican

  • Thank you for making this video. It is the modern way not to look to the elderly but their experiences and memories are so valuable.

  • I love older folks. They always have something fascinating to say. Just like my grandma. ; )

  • I wish the term 'senior' would be adopted for older people here in the UK (the usual term is 'pensioner'); I think the term 'senior' is so much more respectful and dignified.

I feel humbled when I listen to people such as these ladies. They all lived through some of the most momentous times in human history; their positive and good-natured attitudes are an inspiration to us all.
