I personally would have been feeling a type of way, I had 2000 explorer, sold it to my tenant and then it blew up and burned to the ground... ppl say fords are good, I'm having a hard time figuring out y? Lol j/k

Damn dude that sucks. I bet that was scary. I have a 1996 and the basket that holds the front spring broke so now it sits crooked but it runs straight, go figure? I'm not too keen on ford having had 2 of them which were fix and repair daily.

Did the inside end of the axle snap off, or did the "C" clip break? Did the carrier & gears come apart too?

HA l have plenty of routine maintenence slips for the truck. wait last time l check l changed the gear the rear gear oil was nov.2009 at $140 for ford 90-140synetic fluid. your right things don't wear out l just dont have a bain LOL l will remember that next time l am doing the annual inspection of the aircraft your flying on.....l'll pull some southwest airlines shit just for you......dingbat
