@allgood2000 ours didn't, i think all it did was display the number, but that didn't always work either sometimes ppl would say they called and we didn't have a clue. curse those things im so glad technology has improved.

That answering machine looks like it might also be from the episode where that one lady from the phone research center calls the one guy and the outgoing message is a suicide threat.

The busy message on the cellphone sounds like it might be played by the narrator.

didnt she have voice mail on her cell phone? While being on a transplant waiting list, that cell phone is her life line! True shit happens, but at least people cared enough to help. *** To the cops... "To serve and protect" -Good job boys! Thumbs up!

I don't think car phones had voicemail back then. My parents had one like that back in the day, and it didn't have voicemail.
