Mario Kart Wii - June 2008, 2nd Competition 1'55"541

June 15, 2008 - My first good score of the 4th Mario Kart Wii Nintendo Event (Competition 2 June 15-25, 2008).
One day after I posted this vid I improved my time to 1'53"700. You can find a video of this run in my videos and as response to this video ;-)

This time the task is to drive Mushroom Gorge backwards with karts only. It's an interesting idea to drive courses backwards, because they become brand new tracks :) Karts only is a little mean, because normally we are driving those hard drifting bikes for time trial, so it was difficult to re-learn the normal drift.

Not much to say about strats: The main difficulty are the red mushrooms in the cave which are some kind of random and the part around the finish line with the shroomspot in the first corner and the strange jump in front of the finish line.
Already on the first day of the competition I got a pretty solid run without too many mistakes. The second lap was a bit weaker than the others, but I can't spot an obvious reason - maybe I just took some corners too wide.

XD Yes, I feel always sorry for the low quality of my vids, but I can't record them in higher quality. And btw.: The original looks much better - YouTube compresses them just too much :P

You know there's a way to always get a high quality link ;) You just need 480x360 res and a 600kbps bitrate (1000 works best)
