That is a pretty difficult question to answer but they both use the same TI chip and they are basically the same projector on the inside. Personally, I've had optomas before and will have optomas again in the future but I did get a little giddy from the Vivitek PJ. I say you should buy whichever one is cheaper but the Vivitek is admittedly better looking....

I have a Optoma EW1610 Projector and i wanted to know, How much of a difference in picture quality is the HD20.

@lamx12345 Well it depends on how big you want your screen to be, for example I have my projector 11 feet from my white basement wall and it it projecting at 108 inches in size. I took it into my yard and pointed it at the neighbors house and it took up the entire side of the house, we watched the football game! This projector is rated for true HD up to 300 inches. But you can go bigger if you want.

@lamx12345 Bulb is about $250 canadian. Yes you install in the bottom, very easy to put in altho I have not had to replace bulb yet. Its good for 4000 hours.

I have this exact projector and it is one of the best buys of my life. I use it for gaming on my Wii and watching lots of cable tv and movies. New OEM bulb is like 249CA or so but the life of the bulb is better than most.......got about 400 hours on mine with no regrets at all.

Hi Jeff , nice video! Jeff i have around £1300-1500 and im looking for a projecter for my room which is completely blacked out and my current Optoma very old projecter is about 3 and a half meters away from my wall which i use it on.... can you recommened any projecters around that price range for me please? I use it mainly for FILMS/computer games! cheers John.

i was thinking of upgrading my hdtv but now i think ill buy one of these next.
