@jpnmusic2 I think the shotgun rules for home defense, but many folks only want a handgun. I keep a hangun loaded for home defense also, as a backup for my shotgun.

@kraken58 Ruger and S&W makes some fine revolvers!

@russianmerc The grips are wrap around Hogue rubber grips.

I would rate GLOCK # 1 in 9mm or .40 for guys and for the ladies Ruger GP 100 or SW 2 1/2" 357Mag Mod 586 loaded with 38 special. But again everyone have their own preferences.

How about .357?

@microminiskirt I love 357 magnums, and there are many good 38 +P defensive loads for those who don't like the magnum recoil.

@GunznGear Ruger and S&W makes some fine revolvers??? yes that WAS right until early 90's today it's all about increasing profit margins and reducing quality and finish, good Toolmakers and Mechanical Engineers are scarce and/or paid peanuts, shareholders are screaming for more dividends. The overall quality of gun manufacturing is nothing about what it used to be until not long ago... Still they are still some around but you pay the price!

@kraken58 I disagree w/ you. I think the quality for S&W was at it's worse in the 80's, but they were still a quality revolvers. You could remove the side plates and see a lot of machine marks, and even metal shavings. I own a few revolvers made from the late 90's to recent years, and they are fine handguns. I will admit that I hate the locking mechanism though.

Great video. Never thought about getting a firearm that my g/f would be able to shoot. Always been about what I want haha. What would you recommend I start her on. Currently I have a Ruger p345, p89. I'm also looking to get an Lc-9.

@xcatalepticxsinx I started my wife with a 22lr in order to learn the fundamentals. The P89 is kinda of large, but 9mm should shoot softly enough in it for her to enjoy.
