Well here is my take on the "break in "controversy. Some will argue that it is a waste of time, with no added benefit to the guns overall accuracy. After asking a lot of very good long range marksmen as well as manufacturers of precision rifle barrels, I made my decision as to what to do.
That decision was to follow a regimented break in procedure for the first 20 rounds. Now whether or not the process actually helped, I really do not know. What I do know is that the rifle in this video shoots extremely accurate, 30 round aggregate is consistently 16 inches or less and I have shot many sub 7 inch, 5 shot groups, all at 1000 yards. Yes, I do build my own ammunition, with careful attention paid to virtually all aspects of loading. I sort all projectiles by weight and ogive/base length and weigh my powder charge out 3 decimal places to the right, everything the same way every time. So make your own decision, I follow this procedure of breaking in on all of my rifles and am always pleased with the outcome, it seems to work for me.
What solvent do you use? Will Butch work? Also for the lube, how about Slip 2000 EWL? I have no idea what's end this stuff, but some swear by it...
