  • Why did they fire Catherine Oxenberg? They replaced her with another actress for a very short period of time. I thought Catherine left the show on her own will.

  • @nickah79

Catherine asked for a small payrise and therefore was fired instantly. She apparently was fired only days/weeks before filming on Season 7 began hence the unfortunate rush job with Karen Cellini.

  • @smck2009 They fired her just for asking? Or did she argue with them? The 6th season was when Joan Collins held out for a 65k per episode pay raise.

  • @nickah79

Aapparently yes though seemingly she tended to show up late for filming and threatened to quit alot so maybe this also contributed to her firing. All in all though they shoul dhave met her demands and given her that pay rise as her exit led to a big fall in ratings + Karen Cellini was just awful.

  • @smck2009 truth be told joan collins played a role in her firing....they did not really get alone...linda evan and john got along with catherine but joan did not take to her....when she asked for the raise it gave them the perfect opportunity...then she also did not get along with the new actress and they got rid of her and let the character go....think about it....if they really wanted to keep her they wld have offered her atleast an extra 5k-7500 to keep her happy....

  • @hardren101

Really? I heard Joan Collins stated the people she most got along with on Dynasty were Catherine, John James & Pamela Bellwood?

  • "I'm going to strip her bare in front of the whole world!"

    Sounds dirty, Blake!

  • Me too! I was hoping for a love triangle involving Amanda/Clay/Sammy-Jo in season 7 (with Catherine as Amanda of course). They would have had some great catfights! lol It would have been better than pairing Amanda with the damn chauffeur.

  • Amanda had to kill in fire like Claudia..because her replacement and then her disappearance was awful...However Claudia is went crazy again thanks to Adam she is not wrong..because Blake was bad with her..after her marriage with Adam and getting away her job in La Mirage..and now the oil..I never blame her last hate agains Carrington

  • so sad is the last episode for Claudia and first Amanda..

  • Is that all sammy jo does is eat? and very sloppily i might add..

  • Dallas was at the top for a very long time and their cliffhanger for the 84-85 season beat out dynasty's moldavian massacre when bobby ewing "died". Larry Hagman and the rest of the cast got along so well on and off the set and always partied and got together and there wasnt much infighting. the core cast respected and genuinely loved each other which showed thru in their work.. no one had any ego problems.. JC i heard didnt get on with JF esp the choking scene in this clip JC didnt trust him

  • If i had a chance to make it in show business, i'd be thankful and enjoy the ride and i believe in getting along with co workers..

  • @smck2009 i never understood how karen cellini ever made it as far as she did, when she has to be one of the worst actresses ever.. even as her stint on dynasty went on, she still was horribly unbelievable when she spoke her lines.. no special quality to make the camera or audience love her.. i never seen her in anything before or since.

  • @smck2009 if you ever here any of the actresses from the golden girls interviewed about the show (of course when they were alive) they never spoke poorly of the others...truth be told they did not get along all that great...but true actors will nvr speak poorly of their peers...no one on the roseann barr show cld stand her...inlcuding the guy who played here husband...if u notice in the final season they have very few scenes together....

  • @smck2009 she says the most nicest, realist and down to earth was linda evans...she spoke to and treated every one the same. John spoke to pretty much only linda but was cordial and friendly to everyone... john after linda left he kinda if retreated and stayed to himself but she said he was never in a bad mood and was always prof.

  • @smck2009 lol...dont believe everything u hear....mom aunt was a seemstress in the business and worked on Dynasty and falcon crest....she said joan was a very standoffish with most of the cast on the set....she got along fine with john and linda but that is because they were also the stars of the show and were a very tight team....the show had its little clicks and although they never speak poorly of each other in public they were not a tight nit cast esp in the final seasons.
