The position of the coronals varies from dental to alveolar, with /t/ and/tʰ/ more likely to be dental.

You mean Cantonese? It should be alveolar but some of the people like to pronounce like dental. However, it is not a big problem because the problem is unlikely hearable. But if you pronounce it with retroflex, it is a big mistake.
