Euclid TC-12. This is one of the MOST impressive machine I have ever seen work. This thing can REALLY push the dirt. Within 40 minutes, the TC-12 transformed a flat piece of ground into a trench deep enough to burry this monster. GM took over Euclid in 1952. In 1955 they designed this crawler, with the first one hitting the dirt in 1958. It was the most powerful dozer in the world at that time. It had a split, down the middle, oscillating frame with 2 GM 6-71, and 2 Allison 3 speed automatics. The TC-12 was good for 6.9 mph forward, and 8.9 mph in reverse. HP rating was 413 HP in 1956, then upped to 425 in 1958. One for each side the dozer. Each engine and trans drove one track, and it could literally spin on a dime. 500 units where sold from 1958-1966. In 1968, the Euclid TC-12 became the Terex 82-80, it was rated at 440 hp and weighed 52 tons when production stopped in 1974.

Also seen is passing the camera, is a fantastic looking Cletrac. We also see a young lad, living the dream of many a young boy, of running a Caterpillar D6 with a scraper.

  • Wow! What a machine!

  • You can never deny what the engines are. Can't mistake a Jimmy Screamer for anything else.

Just a note; after GM took over Euclid, Allis-Chalmers bought the Buda Engine Company. Before this, A-C used GM diesels in all of their crawlers, but couldn't be seen as supporting the competition after GM bought Euclid.

  • That thing is a beast.....

  • That T-12 is amazing! The truck I drove 30 yrs ago had a 6-71 in it, a dozer with two would be way fun! Well done. Rich

  • Awesome :)
