  • what is it for though? why do you need it?

  • Normally cooling machines.

  • Try spending it on something more useful, then.

Like learning how to spell "wasted".

  • Define waste of time.

  • why are the top comments about bickering about physics or time spent?

or grammar or spelling for that matter.

we're getting a demonstration for free. shut your fuckin faces and appreciate what is available.

    thank you, gyroscopes man.

  • You guys who are saying this is a waste of time have no idea what is going on. The amazing thing about vortex tubes like this is that you can have one inlet flow coming in like he has at the top of the vortex tube (at a certain temp & pressure). And two exit flows coming out the sides, one shooting out cold air, and one shooting out hot air. You dont have to do any work or add any heat to the system to achieve this. And this all happens given that first initial inlet flow. Pretty cool stuff.

  • @gyroscopes In motorsport, you may consider using vortex tubes to add extra downforce at high speeds.

  • Nice demonstration, did you say that the inlet air pressure 8200 psi?

  • @1slipping1 Uh, theres water cooling systems for PCs? Also, a bit more on the expensive side (as if a water cooled system isnt) theres the ability to totally submerge your system in cooling liquid. This would be a huge waste imo, and loud.

  • You shouldn't use a reflective surface for an IR thermometer. It'll pick up on reflected IR emissions from the environment.

  • I cant hear you.

  • imagine that cooling my CPU haha. Hmm wonder if there a vortex tube cooler that would be amazing

  • What would be cool is if he made a wind generator that compressed air hooked it to this to cool his car as he drove down the road

  • I used something similar to this when I worked at a tune up shop. To adjust carburator choke heaters. One side cooled it so I could ajust choke angle and cold start idle.
