Poor thing! The reason why that dogs is sooo crazy excited is because chins CAN'T STAND to be left alone for long periods of time. Chins are companion dogs and will bawl their eyes when you leave them. If you must leave them behind, I recommend giving the dog a generous pat on the head while saying goodbye on your way out the door. This helps calm him down as well as helps him to understand that you havn't forgotten about him. Over time they realize that 'goodbye' means you'll come back.

My wife's mother breeds them, and lots of other toy dogs, we were well aware of his habits. And he would respond the same whether I was gone 5 minutes or 5 hours.

its so cute whenever you come home and ur dog waits for you. then once they see/or hear you coming in, they run to the door. and once you open the door and enter, they can't stop jumping on ya b.c they're so happy to see you
