  • @naominonihodgkins Before you can make an informed decision of how to correct, you have to know how much is already there. As your eye and brain cannot be trusted, you need an objective measuring tool. Architects and builders use tape measures and squares. Photographers use light meters.

  • @naominonihodgkins This where fixing in post processing is difficult to impossible. Robert does an amazing amount of pre-production light handling to create results that are virtually undetectable. The room simply looks great. A color meter is a scientific tool that gives you filter correction information to convert the color of a source to a color you want it to be. And that is the KEY to the process: What do you want it to be? That is the art of using a meter and photography.

  • @naominonihodgkins The short story: Every light source has a color component. If you have more than one light illuminating a scene or subject, you have more than one color illuminating that scene or subject. Your eyes and brain constantly correct for it. Film and todays digital cameras cannot. The problem is not the area where the source is the primary illumination and therefore the a prime color determiner. It is the transitions where sources mix colors.

  • Sorry, not telling me squat.
