I hastily threw this somewhat imperfect rendition together after seeing what I thought were some rather impressive, yet inaccurate interpretations of the intro of Regulator. I know this one has a couple mistakes and isn't EXACT, but I believe I have arguably the closest interpretation of it. The tuning is D-A-D-G-A-D; quite common in bluegrass, especially with slide riffs.

  • I like it.. Im quite sure that is how Neil plays it and the way it is recorded.. I wish I had an extra guitar tuned down to D-A-D-G-A-D so I don't had to tuned up and down all the time..

    well done!

  • Thanks man! Yeah, I'm a big fan of D-A-D-G-A-D tuning so I always keep this guitar in it. That's how I picked up on the tuning immediately when I heard the song. This tuning is spectacular for fingerpicking because it's got an octave at the bottom and more simple chord shapes across the fretboard.

  • Very Nice i couldn't get some of the notes just right but you my friend got it down pat

  • Very nice! Great playing! I did a cover too. I use the D-A-D-F#-A-D tuning. I have noticed we all play different versions in different tunings, I wish Neil would teach me his xD
