It is funny the actual building that the golden gose arcade was in is still standing to this day (2012) but sadly not as the golden gose. i think the life gaurds use it? if you know get back to me. also the redevolpers are currently re thinking the plan to try and incorperate a pier into the plan. problay wont come off. new brighton is still a great resort!!!!!!!!!
who ever drank the 'yard of ale' on the pier? great place to start off your Saturday before jiving away to Bill Gregson at the Tower (until the bouncers tried to break you up) Strictly Ballroom but Bill Haley changed all that. :)
I lived in New Brighton 71-79. My Grandad and I use to walk the promenade every evening after tea. Remembering Winter Gardens, the outdoor baths, the model boating lake. Such a wonderful place in time to grow up.
so many fond memories of this pier, lol wen the tide recided go beachcombing underneath for pennies dropped thru the planks, then upto the "american arcade" in victoria road to try win my fortune, or the cafe next door where my sister eve worked an buy "blue ribands" an a "coca cola" thanks to all who lost their money , happyyyyyyyyyy day's they where
what makes me laugh is that they rebuilt southport pier and it goes no where , new britghtons crying out for a pier , even though not much is there ,its still popular on a sunny day , with a great prom , and the sands coming back to

NewBrighton has been let down by the redevelopers. It is a lovely place to live, so sad that it was ever left to go down the pan.

I am so disappointed that a new pier is not part of the new plans.
