Its called aesthetic immersion, its a sign of great acting ability: the capacity to be so inundated in the nuances of the persona you are mimicking that the audience cannot divorce the authentic Dexter from the synthetic Dexter from the "real life" Dexter....In other words dude's got TALENT!
