When I reached her she was standing by my car, looking back and forth from it to me in amazement.
"Is this YOURS?"
"Yeah, my Jetta ran out of gas."
"You have TWO cars, both awesome ones, yet you let me drive around in that piece of CRAP?" She semi yelled and glared at me. I laughed, and her look softened.
"Sorry, your car is fine."
"But," She starred at it as we walked by, "It's so normal and boring. Anyways, enough about cars! Who was that hunk you were talking to?"
"Oh, um. He said his name was Joe, he caught me looking at his car."
"Oh, I'll have to get the info about him from Janet, I'll tell you everything I know at lunch!" I was about to protest but she already got lost in the crowd as she walked away. I sighed and went to my first class, English. I sat in the back as usual and tried to take notes, but my mind kept wondering to the angel boy, Joe. In every class I had my mind always ended up on him. The morning flew by and soon it was time for lunch. As I walked into the cafeteria I scanned the sea of eyes for his dark, hypnotizing ones. They weren't there, discontentment hit me like a ton of bricks, not that a ton of bricks would even move me.
"Christina!" Jocelyn waved me over to her table. I adjusted the strap on my bag and walked over. "Janet hasn't told me anything yet, do you want to join us?"
"No, thank you. You can tell me later," I smiled and walked away, hoping she would forget because I would be listening anyway. I watched the room for Joe as I listened to Jocelyn and Janet's conversation.
"His name is Joe Jonas, he's 19 and a Senior." Janet began in a hushed tone. "His little brother, Nick a Junior, and sister, Regina, a freshmen, both go here. His older brother and his wife, the brother's not Joe's, go to Rean Community. They moved here last week, with their parents and another girl, she's also going here, and I heard that she is their cousin which doesn't make sense because she and Nick have a thing."
"I heard that Nick and Kevin are adopted, so they are really related." Another one of Jocelyn's friends cut in.
"Really? Where do they live?" Jocelyn asked, trying to get all the information she could.
"I head, Water Street." A girl suggested.
"Hm? I thought it was Pikes field because..." I zoned them out, he walked into the caff. He looked around for a table, there were no empty ones but all the other tables were welcomed to the strange new comer. His eyes found mine and locked. Joe smiled his smile and walked forward, his eyes never leaving mine.
"Hello, Christina. Can I join you?"
"Of course, have a seat." I smiled at him then finally tore my eyes away from his. "How do you like our school?"
"Um, it's okay. The classes seem easy enough." He told me as he sat.
"Oh, that's good."
"Yeah, little after you went inside a group of boys were looking at your car."
"Did they ruin it? Did they touch it? I knew I shouldn't have brought it today!" I flooded him with questions.
"No, almost, and what do you usually drive?"
"A Jetta 2.0T Sedan but it was out of gas." I frowned.
"Don't do that," he quietly spoke.
"Do what?"
"Frown." He said, with a frown himself.
"Why not?" I wiped my face clean of any expression at all and could feel my eyes turning black. Breath, calm down.
"Because," The bell rang and he stood up, as did I. "I'll talk to you later." He smiled again then walked away. I sighed and picked up my bag then walked after everyone out of the lunch room. I walked as slow as possible, even for a human it was slow. I got my math books out of my locker then walked slowly to the class. It was past the second bell when I opened the door to the class room. The teacher gave me a dirty look but kept teaching. I waltz to the back and sat in my usual seat, which happened to be right next to where Joe was sitting. He smiled, that wonderful yet terrible smile. I smiled back.
"You're late, tisk tisk." He joked, quietly.
"Yeah, yeah." I shrugged, "Oops." This caused him to laugh, which made the teacher yell at us. We remained quiet the rest of the class occasionally smiling at one another. The class was over in what seamed like a minute was really a hour. As soon as the bell rang Joe stood up.
"See you!" He rushed out of the room ahead of the other students. I went through the rest of the school day in daze. Everywhere I looked, I searched for those eyes. I didn't see him again though. When the last bell rang I was out of there in a flash, well what a human would call a flash, vampires? Not so much. As soon as I was out the door I looked to where his car was, gone. The disappointment felt strange, a feeling surprisingly new to me with me old age. I sighed and walked toward my car. There was a girl who seemed around 14 or 15 looking it over, just as I had with Joe's car.
