Since 9/11, it's safe to say that politicians have had a field day taking away basic rights of the American citizenry. Under the auspices of fear, it seems like anything goes. and even though the Bush
administration has been deeply criticized for their illegal wiretapping, it's not like anything has stopped with Obama in charge. Now there is an assassination program aimed at U.S. citizens, discussion on abandoning Miranda protections, stripping Americans of their citizenship, and legislation introduced to bar all terrorism suspects, including Americans, from being tried in civilian courts.
